Using the blog today as a Facebook Stand in. I can't make videos upload on facebook and to be honest the last time I tried to upload photos it took forever!
So here goes! This past weekend the kid and I, and some friends, attended a Mother Daughter Camp at the local YWCA residential camp. We had a blast! I have to admit I was a bit unsure of what it would be like - the last time I was at a residential camp for a program I was running it. Could I be a camper again??? The answer is, yes. It was actually quite nice to be a camper. There was no planning, no running around, no organizing. Just hanging out.
The camp ran a good program, although they could have done a better job letting us know what the activities were ahead of time. We had quite a lot of choice and a good mix of outdoor activities and indoor crafty stuff. The highlight for the kid was the zipline though. Yep, I let my six year out get suspended from a thing cable and jump off a 10foot tall platform - and she loved it!
Here's a few shots of the location and a link to the YouTube video of her second run.
The camp we attended was Camp YoWoChAs, the kid loved it so much we're considering a sending her to camp there next summer.
